It sounds like a joke, but it’s not seldom that people express their wishes, I should work with someone else so the person will change her behaviour. This can happen with the best intentions. I see how my daughter is working so hard, that I am afraid she will harm her health. My husband is depressed after he lost his job and he doesn’t find the energy and confidence to look for a new one. No, I cannot change your husband. But you and I, can work together and see how YOU can support the person in a better way.

When we think we know better, what another person has to do, we are making them smaller and we make ourselves bigger. We think we know best. When we look at the dynamic of the situation in a constellation we can put ourselves in the other person’s shoes and often that can bring great insights. There were the parents, who were worried about their daughter because, from their perspective, she was overloading herself with projects. In the constellation, they could recognize that with their constant concern, they would harm their relationship with their daughter. They could let go, accept she has her way in life and her way of making decisions for herself was sometimes surprising. But they could also develop trust and confidence she will find her way. This changed their relationship and communication very much. There was the wife, who wanted her husband to be more self-confident when he was looking for a new job. When she set up the constellation, she recognized, that she was getting in the way and not strengthening him with her current behaviour. When she changed her position, also her behaviour changed towards him – surprise, surprise – and his behaviour changed as well. Constellations help us to take a systemic view of relationships and see the bigger picture. We are co-creating relationships, and the focus of my work is to discover, what can you do to contribute to the desired future.

When we set aside the notion that we know best and instead seek to understand the dynamics of our relationships through systemic constellation work, we open ourselves to profound insights and transformative experiences. By putting ourselves in others’ shoes, we not only gain a deeper understanding of their perspectives but also foster greater empathy, compassion, and connection. This approach can lead to more harmonious relationships and a more fulfilling life.

The Benefits of Systemic Constellation Work are tremendous:

1. Enhanced Empathy and Compassion: By experiencing the perspectives of others, participants develop greater empathy and compassion. This can improve relationships and promote a more supportive and understanding environment.

2. Clarity and Resolution: Systemic constellation work often brings clarity to complex situations. By uncovering hidden dynamics and gaining new insights, individuals can find resolutions to longstanding issues and move forward with greater confidence.

3. Empowerment and Growth: Understanding the systemic influences on one’s life empowers individuals to make positive changes. It encourages personal growth, healing, and the ability to create a more fulfilling future.

Embracing the opportunity to explore the dynamics of our relationships, is a journey that promises to enrich our understanding of ourselves and others, leading to a more balanced and harmonious life.
